A CIGARETTE is thought to have been the start of a blaze at a home in Nelson last night.
The settle of the house in Pine Street had caught fire after a cigarette was left on the furniture in the living room at around 8.15pm.
The fire, attended by two appliances from Nelson, caused severe damage to the front room and smoke damage the rest of the house.
