THIEVES escaped with property worth £690 when they burgled a house in Hawthorne Bank, Burnley Road, Altham.
After climbing a wall at the back of the house, the intruders forced a door, ransacked the house and stole a Samsung video, worth £75; a Freestyle 75 cordless phone, £35; a white Braun iron, £30; a Longines gent's watch with silver bracelet and white face, £200; a Breitling gent's watch with silver strap and green face, £250; and a gold coloured wedding band with jewels, £100.
The thieves then used carrier bags from the house to carry their load when they struck on Thursday between noon and 5.30pm.
