I FULLY support the remarks of Mr T Ormerod (Letters, December 2) and suggest the time has come for immediate action regarding the parking problem on Bolton Road (A666) in the vicinity of the India Mill complex in Darwen.
As I approached Radford Street at approximately 3pm that day, there was already a build-up of traffic, with commercial vehicles and other vehicles held up and also unable to turn into Radford Street due to cars being parked there within seven to 10 yards of the junction with Bolton Road.
A commercial vehicle I saw wished to turn into Radford Street but because of the angle of approach being blocked by a van and a car was unable to do so.
I timed the delay at just short of 10 minutes. When I eventually did manage to enter Radford Street, I was blocked by a vehicle coming in the opposite direction.
Were I driving an ambulance or a fire engine on an emergency mission, I shudder to think what the outcome would have been.
It is up to the powers that be to stop prevaricating and get some solution sorted out immediately before there is a loss of life.
H IREDALE, Melville Drive, Blackburn.
