POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was mugged as he played with friends in a park in Burnley.
The 13-year-old was with two friends near the river in Towneley Park when he was approached by two older boys who rifled through his pockets.
The thieves stole £5 cash and a Philips mobile phone and also took the boy's house keys and threw them in the river.
The incident happened at about 3pm last Sunday.
One of the thieves was described as 15-16 years, 5ft 7 ins, wearing dark clothing including a jacket with hood, dark blue baseball cap, and brown and cream checked scarf.
The second was described as 15 years and five ft 6ins.
