IT is the time for New Years resolutions and the people on the committee have made one.

They have decided that it is time we made an effort to keep faith with all those people who supported us with their cash in the dark days of Spring.

Remember the "Buy A Seat" campaign which was such a rousing success with people from all over the world contributing to the rescue fund, sending in money to have their names put on a seat in the Gigg Lane stadium?

The names are on the seats alright but there has never been a record made of which names are on which seats.

Until now.

The Bury FC Supporters' Society (Forever Bury) has decided to remedy this situation and draw up a complete register of which name is on which seat.

The register will be kept on computer so that anyone who contributed to the scheme will be able to find out where his or her seat is situated.

It is a matter of keeping faith with all those people who turned up trumps when they were needed.

So, on Sunday, January 5, at 12 noon, a band of volunteers will assemble at the ground, pens and clipboards at the ready, to go round the stadium writing down which name is on every seat.

There are 12,000 seats at Gigg Lane, so it's a mammoth task, needing lots of people.

An army of volunteers is required. Anyone who has a couple of hours to spare on the day is urged to come along to the main club offices at 12 noon.

Those who have a pen and clipboard please bring them with you. If you do not have both or either, come along just the same.

Now for a bit of festive cheer.

The Forever Bury beer, brewed in town by Brenden Leyden and promoted all over the place by Dave Giffard (who also sups it!) has sold its 100th barrel.

It is particular pleasing that the century mark has been reached as a result of repeat orders.

Supporters and other drinkers who cannot manage a full barrel can buy 'party packs' or if they just want to test it out before making a major purchase, the beer is now available locally in bottles.

The Forever Bury website lists those locations where the beer may be sampled.

The Supporters' Society receives a royalty for every barrel, party pack and bottle sold, so supporters have the best possible excuse for downing a few pints - all in a good cause.

Reminder: The home game against Kidderminster Harriers has been re-arranged and will now be played this Sunday, not Saturday as previously listed.

Here's hoping for an attendance comparable to that of the Rochdale game and that we celebrate the New Year with another win.

Best wishes for the New Year to all Bulletin readers, members and non-members.
