DELEGATES to the latest meeting of the Bury-based Manchester Association of Spirit at Work played their cards right.

For the evening featured Brett Lancaster of Lancaster Management Associates who introduced a card game called Intuitive Solutions that he had discovered at the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland. The game is designed to bring insight and clarity to problem solving and have a little fun in the process.

Brett firstly explained how he had been using the game with client companies, most recently with a group of managers facing "restructuring" within their organisation. Those present then each shared a business dilemma that they were currently facing were helped by the others to explore their options with the aid of randomly chosen cards, one of which was a guiding "angel" they could depend on for direction.

Most of the issues appeared to have been generated by the age-old problem of whether head or heart should dictate business decision-making. Intuitive Solutions offers a third option, drawing on the subconscious to stimulate creative ideas and solutions.

The Manchester Association for Spirit at Work is a non-religious group, run by Summerseat-based businessman Phil Clothier, that meets once a month in the St James Church Hall, Walshaw. It aims to provide a venue where issues of spirituality and business can be openly discussed.

The next meeting will be held on January 13 between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. Contact Phil on 01706 824696 for more details.
