MEMBERS of the public were treated to a taste of life on the piste in Rossendale yesterday when Ski Rossendale opened its slopes to novices for an open day, which was intended to attract more people to the delights of Alpine pursuits.
Lessons and demonstrations were given to newcomers to the sport.
A spokesman at the centre, in Haslingden Old Road, Rawtenstall, said: "We just gave people taster lessons.
"We had absolute beginners who were introduced to snowboarding and skiing. Boxing Day has always been associated with sport, so we decided to put an event on and encourage more people to come along at the same time."
