SHREWSBURY TOWN 4 BURY 1: SHAKERS suffered a Christmas hangover of monumental proportions at Gay Meadow as they went down to their heaviest defeat of the season.
Tormenter in chief was Town's hat-trick hero Ryan Lowe, while Andy Preece's men finished the game with 10 men after Jamie Stuart was dismissed in the 77th minute.
Town took the lead after 12 minutes when central defender Pete Wilding lashed home a volley.
Lowe scored his first in the 68th minute, and then added the third after Garner dropped a high ball.
Preece hooked home a consolation a consolation effort three minutes from time before Lowe secured his hat-trick with a powerful first time effort.
Preece said: "We looked like we had no energy at all. It was disappointing to put in such a poor performance and we don't seem to have learned the lessons from previous games."
