A LANDLORD has given a big thank you to all his customers after they helped him raise £320 for sick and disabled children.

Ian Jagger, of the Gordon Lennox Arms, Burnley Road, Cliviger, said the money came from a charity casino night at the pub this month.

The money will go to the Adventure Farm Trust, a charity that provides holidays for disadvantaged, disabled and sick children at Boothbank Farm, Millington, near Lymm.

Although Ian said his customers were to be praised for their generosity and warmth he said there was a time when certain 'guests' did not always make the pub feel welcoming.

He said the Lennox is known for being haunted and has even had a team of poltergeist hunters who confirmed the existence of ghosts.

He said: "When I first moved in I was told the pub was haunted and we used to get doors slamming, lights flashing and objects moving.

"I used to dread the end of the night when I was on my own.

"I know it sounds silly, but when I used to turn off all the lights and head for the stairs to my flat I used to keep looking straight ahead at the door so I wouldn't see anything in the dark.

"Apparently, before I came to the Lennox, the pub was visited by three old ladies who it was said were poltergeist hunters.

"They apparently declared the place was full of them."

"It's not as bad now, but I still get the odd weird feeling."
