THE family of a Burnley man seriously injured in a car crash are facing an anxious wait at his hospital bedside.
Steven Morris, 48, of Printers Fold, Burnley, was cut from the wreckage of his Ford Escort on Friday morning.
He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital by air ambulance and his condition was today described as critical.
Police said that his car had failed to negotiate a left hand bend in Whalley Road, Read, and crossed to the other side of the carriageway.
The vehicle collided with a Honda Civic travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver and two passengers in the Honda Civic all received slight injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
