AN environmental group which oversees the conservation of a nature reserve in Nelson is looking for volunteers to help with its work.
The group are hoping that more people will lend a hand helping preserve the natural habitat at Lomeshaye Marsh.
By becoming a "Friend of Lomeshaye Marsh" members of the public can learn new skills and take part in guided walks along a new water trail and book visits for groups or classes.
Seasonal activities include tree planting, wild flower meadow maintenance and wetland management. Workdays are held at weekends.
The reed warbler, European toad, common snipe and the cuckoo flower are just a few examples of the diverse wildlife that inhabit the site.
Businesses are also being asked for sponsorship to contribute to the site's upkeep.
