REGARDING Councillor Alan Cottam's call for Blackburn residents to rent out spare rooms to tourists (LET, January 4), we have been using German B and B's for the last 20 years and have found them to be excellent value for money and a good way of meeting the ordinary people of the country.
The houses are usually quite large and bedrooms are complete with en-suite toilets and showers.
I do not thing that most of the properties in and around Blackburn could compete with the ones that we have used abroad and queuing for the loo would not make for a happy tourist.
