A JUVENILE has been warned about his behaviour after he was spotted throwing bottles of milk at houses in Kings Drive, Padiham.

Beat bobby PC Tony Himycz joined local residents to watch out for the schoolboy. He said it was unlikely the boy would offend again.

PUPILS, parents and staff were sad to learn that Gawthorpe High School's popular headteacher Len Thomas has resigned due to ill-health. Mr Thomas was disappointed but felt the school needed someone whose health was good.

PADIHAM Storks football team have been very busy this year. The team is about to play in the First Division, which they have not achieved before. They are also in the last four of the Worthington Challenge Trophy.

A SOCCER derby will take place on Saturday morning when Gawthorpe and Habergham Under 15s face each other at Gawthorpe School. Kick off 10.30am.

CLAIRE Drury, re-cycling officer for Burnley Borough Council attended the Hapton Parish Council meeting on Tuesday. She told parish councillors about the new re-cycling scheme which has recently started in the village. The councillors were generally pleased with the scheme but slightly disturbed by the fact that recently the collection of red bags which are put out for collection on Fridays are not being collected until Saturday.

This has resulted in some bags being ripped open and the contents scattered.

THREE Padiham houses were included in the clearance area of the town. They are 19 and 21 Cliff Street and 22 Dean Street, situated off High Street.
