A SECOND half goal by Lee Elam gave Morecambe the edge in a hard-fought FA Trophy derby at Giant Axe.
A crowd of more than 2,000 people saw the former Southport winger turn a Gary Thompson cross past Lancaster City,s otherwise unbeatable keeper Mark Thornley.
Moments earlier, City's best effort - a looping header from Brian Welch - had been turned around the post by Morecambe keeper Craig Mawson.
Now the Shrimps must travel to Trophy holders and conference leaders Yeovil Town for the next round.
