AFTER two televised world championships in recent weeks, darts fans can look forward to a weekend of live action in Morecambe.
Lancashire host Surrey in the Inter-Counties darts championship, with local players Liz Akister and Mick O'Hara playing for the B-team at the Millennium Club on Saturday.
And on Sunday, the A-team match at the Carleton features team captain and local Paul Beard along with Mick Oversby, who also plays darts in the local leagues.
Unfortunately, only Steve Coote -the popular fireman from Farnworth who appeared in the Embassy championships - remains from the many former county players who have chosen not to be considered.
No fewer than 12 players who have represented the red rose county are missing from inter-counties darts.
Even though the men's A-team are the reigning champions and have won the competition a record nine times, the team will field a seventh new player this season in an effort to regain the standards Lancashire supporters have become used to.
Doors open both days at 10.30am.
