TURF Moor has joined a campaign aimed involving more youngsters in watching and playing football.
Bosses at Burnley FC have a grant of £10,000 from Nationwide, sponsors of the Football League, to encourage youngsters, especially girls to join in the game.
To kick off the scheme, girls from Fearns High School, Bacup, and Bowland High School, Grindleton. were given free tickets for Clarets matches
The club's assistant leisure and community officer Mick Harrison said: "Women's and girls' football is an up and coming sport and we were keen to do our bit to encourage this."
The club will be continue the scheme until the end of the season.
