DARWEN 'independence' campaigner Roy Davies meets council chiefs tonight to discuss the future of the town and the prospect of separation from Blackburn.
Roy, of Olive Lane, will confront Blackburn with Darwen bosses with demands for more money to be injected into the town.
He said: "It was revealed recently that £1 billion of private investment was brought into the district. I'd like to know how much of that investment has been spent on Darwen.
"It's clear that the town has suffered from under-investment since the 1970s and this needs to change."
A petition set up by Roy attracted 500 signatures in favour of Darwen 'going it alone'.
He said: "We want to restore Darwen and put pride back into the town."
