I MUST protest against the letter 'Laws favour minorities' published in The Citizen on January 2.
Christmas is no longer a Christian day but celebrated as a secular festival as evidenced by the decline in church going on Christmas Day itself.
The so called 'minorities' the author so disparagingly refers to, have contributed enormously to the economic life of this country by working hard and putting in long hours.
Superstores opening all day seven days-a-week, thereby giving employment to hundreds of thousands of people is a testament to this.
It is worth noting that Cohens Chemist, in Deepdale Road, Preston, was open on Christmas Day and did a roaring trade in flu remedies, painkillers and so on.
People like Mr Bryn Davis should realise that England is not as it was fifty years ago.
Mr Samir Vohra, Sherbourne Cresent, Deepdale.
