CRAIG Brown sets about trying to turn around North End's woeful season on Saturday - with up to 15 senior players out!

Five players are out on suspensions after clocking up too many yellow cards. They are captain Chris Lucketti, Graham Alexander, Paul McKenna, Dickson Etuhu and Mark Rankine.

Three of those players - Alexander, McKenna and Rankine - would have missed last Saturday's game against Forest had it not been cancelled.

The injury list for the Ipswich trip also looks worrying, with David Lucas, Rob Edwards, Michael Keane, Richard Cresswell, Mark Wright, Ricardo Fuller, David Healy, Marlon Broomes and Andrew Lonergan all either doubtful or out.

Of that list, only Cresswell has a real chance of playing on Saturday, when Celtic youngster Simon Lynch is expected to make his debut upfront for North End.

With new boys Simon Lynch and Jonathan Gould ready to play their first games, this weekend will see a new look North End.

"Everybody who is fit is likely to feature this weekend," said Brown. Jonathan Gould will definitely start in goal but I have to check on the fitness of a few others before I decide whether Simon Lynch will start or not.

"I left Simon out of the reserves because David Healy has missed the first couple of days training this week with an illness."

The defence is still giving Brown headaches, with only Colin Murdock guaranteed to start.

Brown said: "We were already without three regulars at the back and now Marlon Broomes is a slight doubt.

"We are fortunate that Adam Eaton has returned from his loan spell at Mansfield where he did very well and Brian Barry-Murphy is also available.

"I might also pull Brian O'Neil into central defence.

"We already knew what a good player he was but it was vital we got a look at him. He is a good organiser and a composed player.

"Playing in Germany with their mentality has stood him well."

Brown added: "Having the Forest game called off was the last thing we needed because it means the suspensions really add up now."
