EAST Lancashire's newest theatre has unveiled an exciting programme of events for the new season.

The Thwaites Theatre on Bolton Road at Ewood opened in a blaze of publicity at the end of October.

Denis Lotis, the former singer with the Ted Heath Band, will be performing some of his best known songs on January 25.

The following night, Blackburn and Darwen Brass Band polish off their instruments and perform Bonanza Brass, a selection of popular tunes from their repertoire.

On Saturday, February 15, brass is once again the order of the day when the Standish Brass Band are the guests. The following night there is an Old Time Music Hall with the programme directed by Colin Hilton.

Then making a return to the stage after their sell-out performance of Brassed Off are Blackburn Drama Club with their production of Sylvia's Wedding which runs from February 25 to Saturday, March 1.

Then top comic Jimmy Cricket will be appearing on March 21.
