THREE stunning second half goals warmed up this entertaining encounter on a bitterly cold afternoon.

Strikes from Lammack pair James Croak and Daniel Wilson and a reply from Saints skipper Richard Geoghan were the highlight of one of the few games to survive the icy conditions.

Leaders Lammack failed to make their first half supremacy count as they found Saints keeper Josh Hawkes in unbeatable form as he kept out efforts from Jordan Grubb, Croak and the lively Christian Cerami.

Saints found themselves on the backfoot for most of the first half as Croak used the ball superbly with Cerami using his pace to run at defenders.

And it was Croak and Ceramai who carved out the first chance for Lammack with Alex Brees side footing wide of the Saints goal.

Hawkes miskicked the resulting goal kick but made amends with a far save from Grubb's attempted chip.

Grubb then turned provider for Croak but his close range effort was well saved by Hawkes before the keeper again denied Cerami after racing clear from the halfway line.

But it was a different story after the break as Saints piled on the pressure - and this time it was Lammack keeper Jordan Clarke who was the busier in the opening exchanges.

The keeper was forced in to an early save to beat away a firm drive from Sam Whittaker before Luke Gornall came to Clarke's rescue with a goal line clearance from Tom Walsh.

Walsh then forced another good save out of Clarke after racing on to a quick free kick from the increasingly influential Geoghan.

But Lammack showed their danger on the counter attack and Gornall burst out of defence to set up Alex Brees whose dangerous cross went across the goalmouth.

Clarke was then out bravely to save at the feet of Whittaker before Lammack took the lead from another counter attack.

Cerami stole a yard on his marker and released Sam Dixon in the middle of the park.

The midfield man then released the over-lapping Croak who fired past Hawkes.

Lammack upped the tempo and Brees whipped in another dangerous cross that went unpunished before Cerami tricked his way in to the area only for his shot to be stopped on the line by the outstretched Hawkes. Daniel Wilson then tested Hawkes from the edge of the area before the same player scored a wonderful solo effort.

Picking the ball up outside the area, the tricky forward slalomed between three defenders before casually slotted the ball home. But the Saints weren't out of it and responded with a great solo effort of their own through Geoghan who waltzed through the Lammack defence to score.

The set up a nervy few final minutes for Lammack but they held firm to record a memorable victory.
