I FIND it remarkable that some Darwen residents have nothing better to do than complain about the signing of Blackburn services on the M65 (LET, January 3). The Highways Agency has got it right when it indicates the bigger town on its signs.

The junction in question is the same one for Ewood Park which, of course, is in Blackburn and so it makes sense to signpost it as Blackburn services.

On the M61, the services going towards Bolton are actually in Horwich, but I don't see the residents there complaining that the services should be named Horwich when, in fact, they are named Bolton West.

In the grand scheme of things, Darwen is an insignificant town that many people have not even heard of so is it not time that these people put their efforts into complaining about real issues such as transport and health and must be grateful that these services have actually created jobs for the people of Darwen? After all, does a name really make that much difference?
