A MAN'S body has been found in the River Darwen after a car accident at Pleasington playing fields.
A car was discovered partially submerged in the river and passers-by reported to police that there was a body floating in the water at Hoghton Bottoms.
The police underwater search team, ambulance and fire crews were called to Butler's Bridge at the fields on Friday morning.
A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said it was not clear how the car ended up in the water, but added that an investigation will be carried out.
