STEVE Bruce was quick to hail Christophe Dugarry as Birmingham's answer to Eric Cantona when he swooped to sign him from Bordeaux a fortnight ago.

And te French World Cup winner certainly caught the eye on his debut last week in the Blues' 4-0 defeat against Arsenal at St Andrews.

But only time will tell as to whether he can add the creative spark needed to keep City in the top-flight.

Dugarry has never been a prolific goalscorer but his movement and awareness up front could well prove useful weapons in the fight to beat the drop.

So Martin Taylor and Co will, therefore, need to keep a watchful eye on the 30-year-old tomorrow.

Rovers' giant defender has already made a big impression of his own in the Premiership this season where he's been a virtual ever present so far.

In the last 10 days alone, he's performed magnificently in keeping Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Tore Andre Flo in check.

So what price him doing a similar job on the Blues' new talisman?
