BOLTON and Bury Chamber has welcomed the Government decision to scrutinise the UK liability insurance market.
Lobbying by The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) on the issue of soaring costs of liability insurance has paid off with a decision by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) to launch its investigation into the sector.
Says Kay Gregson, director of customer services for Bolton and Bury Chamber: "Businesses in Bolton and Bury, like their counterparts up and down the country, have been badly affected by sharply rising costs and, in certain instances, being refused cover.
"We are delighted that the OFT has decided to investigate the insurance market further."
