GREAT Harwood go into tomorrow's NWCL Division Two derby at home to Darwen (kick off 2pm) looking for their second win over their rivals this season.

The first game ended 4-2 but Harwood manager John Hughes expects a tougher game this time around.

"It was a comfortable win for us in the cup, but Darwen are doing well at the moment and I know Steve (Wilkes) will be up for it.

"A lot of the players know each other anyway, but I won't have to tell my players to raise their game," he said.

Hughes has added new faces to his squad, with midfielder Rick Winstanley, signed from Bury, due to be involved along with Russell Kay, who is on the verge of signing.

Meanwhile, Darwen manager Steve Wilkes hopes his side can maintain their eight match unbeaten run, though he would like more victories.

"Although we are on the back of a good run, unbeaten in eight, we have drawn the last four of those. We have missed too many chances," he said.

Wilkes was the victim of some ribbing last week after our 'Wilkes wants his Baker boy' headline in Friday's Non-League News.

We can't think why it was deemed so amusing!
