YES, as Michael Morton, managing director of Blackburn Transport urges (Letters, January 9), let's look at the bigger picture regarding town-centre congestion in Blackburn.
He says traffic will ease on Railway Road (left). I doubt that and there is still no way for emergency vehicles to get to the bus station, or buildings on Railway Road, in the event of a disaster.
There have been times when I have been in a taxi, waiting to get out from Morrison's store but couldn't because of the amount of traffic and buses and if a disaster does happen, don't be surprised if emergency vehicles cannot get through.
