POLICE recovered a firearm and arrested a 20-year-old man after a gun was brandished on a late night Metrolink tram.
The drama happened after 11pm on Wednesday (Jan 15) when the man produced the weapon on board the tram, terrifying passengers.
Police say the gunman got off at Besses o' th' Barn station and pointed the weapon at two other passengers who had also alighted. The man then ran off.
Officers searched of the scene and later detained a 20-year-old man.
Police later recovered a ball bearing gun from the rear garden of a house in Westminster Avenue, Whitefield.
