A FORMER NHS worker is still looking for a Darwen woman he caught the train with almost half-a-century ago.
George Kelly, 82, of Albert Road West, in Bolton, bumped into the woman in question one month ago at a Halle Orchestra performance at the Bridgewater Hall, in Manchester.
He said: "In the 1950s we got on the train together to go to work at the Manchester Regional Hospital Trust. We both worked there.
"I got on in Bolton and she got on in Darwen. I was amazed to hear that she still lived in Darwen.
"We didn't have enough time to catch up at the performance and I would love to speak to her again."
If anyone recognises the woman in the story, call George on 01204 842702.
