STANDING in front of a classroom full of children can be very daunting but very rewarding.
That is the message being promoted by Blackburn with Darwen Council before an annual fair to recruit more teachers to the area.
The event is to be held at Ewood Park tomorrow and will be attended by more than 500 people.
The fair is aimed at anyone wishing to pursue a career in teaching, those currently in teacher training and experienced teachers looking for promotion.
Representatives will be available to advise on routes into teaching, the opportunities available in Blackburn with Darwen, returners courses, opportunities for Newly Qualified Teachers and opportunities for promotion for existing experienced teachers.
Coun Mahfooz Hussain, Executive Member for Education & Lifelong Learning said: "Teaching is highly important and we want to continue to attract the best newly qualified teachers, as well as encourage those with relevant qualifications to return to the profession. I hope this event is as triumphant as last year."
