A GRANT of more than £220,000 to a group helping to support families with young children has been welcomed by the local MP.
Gordon Prentice is delighted at the lottery cash for Home-Start Pendle which operates in Colne.
The Pendle Labour backbencher said: "This organisation offers support and practical help to local parents with young children.
"This support provides a lifeline to many local families and I welcome the award of £221,220 which will allow Home-Start to extend their support and to reach more families who need help.
"Home-Start's aim is to help every family with young children in the area who need their support and I am sure this additional funding will make a big difference."
