A MUSIC student today revealed how he has landed a dream assignment to work with one of the hottest acts in the UK.

Lee Holden, in his second year studying towards a BA Contemporary Music at Burnley College, has been invited to produce a record for a top new British music act The Streets, led by British rapper Mike Skinner.

Mike -- dubbed the English Eminem -- has won a series of awards for his debut album Original Pirate Material, which is The Guardian's Album of the Year.

The act is now tipped for major success at both the Brit and NME Awards.

Lee, 20, from Sedburgh Close, Accrington, first contacted Mike Skinner and The Streets' record company Locked On as part of his second year applied music project, which involves working for a client in the music industry.

He has now been commissioned to produce a dance remake of 'Has It Come To This', one of the tracks from the hit album.

Lee said: "When I contacted Mike from The Streets I couldn't believe how down to earth he was.

"He helped me to get in touch with his record company Locked On who have now given me the opportunity to complete the remix which I am very excited about."

To get the chance to lead this project is a real opportunity for Lee, who successfully completed the BTEC National Diploma in Popular Music before joining the degree course.

If his work is successful he will also gain a writing and production credit that could open many doors for him in his future career in music. Helping Lee with the digital music will be Alex Wilson, who is also a second year music student.

Outside college Lee has played drums in a number of bands including Turtleshead, Undiscovered Sanity and, more recently, Crowbar Smile, who have played at various locations around the region.

So far the band have also created two EPs that have been released entitled Sun Block Factor Zen and are just about to release their second CD entitled Brain Drain that was recorded at New Rising Studios in Essex.

In addition the Crowbar Smile are hoping to go on tour around the UK later on this year.
