I ALWAYS like to 'do my bit' for our environment, so when I received a leaflet from Blackburn with Darwen Council outlining their Paper Recycling Collection Scheme, I started saving my waste paper for recycling.
The leaflet asks you to put the sack of waste paper out before 7.30am. What it fails to mention is that not only will the council consistently fail to collect it, but that local children, on their way to and from school, will invariably spread the waste paper up and down the street!
After having to pick it all back up again off the street, several times, I think I should be forgiven for returning to my old method of throwing it in the wheelie-bin.
