CUTTING a dash is Bury-based accountant Danny Booth, who traded his calculator for the catwalk in aid of a children's charity.

Danny (24), who was dressed up to the nines, works at DTE in Hollins. He was among 15 young accountants who strutted their stuff in a fashion ball at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester.

The show, organised by recruitment firm HMI and Manchester Chartered Accountants' Society, was staged to raise funds for Francis House Children's Hospice in Didsbury, Manchester.

Danny, who lives in Ramsbottom, said: "Several hopefuls auditioned and were picked on the basis of looking the part and the type of clothes they wanted to model, which were provided by Kendals."

After the auditions, 15 models from accountancy firms across Greater Manchester attended a crash course of rigorous rehearsals three times a week for three weeks before the event.
