This week with IAN AUSTIN, former Lancashire and England cricketer and new Evening Telegraph columnist
MEMORY: Going to St Peter's Church in Haslingden with my mum who used to do a bit of cleaning there. I'd play around on the snooker table while she worked. You never forget your first telling off!
HOME: That would be Dale Street in Haslingden where I lived until I was about 11.
HOLIDAY: We'd always go to Blackpool every year and stay in the same hotel. We'd meet up with another family from Haslingden. whose son was the same age as me.
JOB: When I left school I worked in the stores at Panther Shoes in Haslingden where I got £25 a week. The boss was a sports fan and used to give me time off to play cricket when I needed it which was great
CAR: I used to borrow my dad's car until I got a sponsored Vauxhall Astra when I joined Lancashire. it wasn't a new one but it did the job.
RECORD: Angels with Dirty Faces on pink vinyl.
MATCH: I made my first team debut for Lancashire in the Sunday league against Derbyshire. My County Championship debut was against the same county.
WICKET: It was against Worcestershire in the Benson and Hedges Cup. I cleaned bowled Ian Botham, so it wasn't a bad start! My first wicket in the championship was Graeme Hick.
