A MAN stopped at 11.45am was found to be three times the legal drink drive limit.

Blackburn magistrates heard that Paul Trezise was subject to a 10-year ban imposed in 1994 for driving with excess alcohol and while disqualified and a five-year ban imposed in 2001 for similar offences.

Prosecutor Neil White said Trezise had admitted to police that despite his bans he had bought the car that day and was driving it home.

Trezise, 53, of Bolton Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol and while disqualified.

He was remanded in custody by District Judge Paul Firth who will pass sentence with the benefit of a previously prepared pre-sentence report.

Elliott Taylforth, defending, said that despite his client's reading of 106 there had been no physical signs of drunkenness.
