ACCRINGTON Stanley's lead at the top of the Unibond Premier Division was cut to 10 points at the weekend.

Stanley's trip to Altrincham was postponed due to a water-logged pitch, but Stalybridge Celtic, Barrow and Vauxhall Motors all played and all picked up points.

Stalybridge moved up to second after romping to a convincing 4-1 win at home to Worksop, while Vauxhall thrashed visitors Lancaster 6-2.

Barrow slipped to third after they could only pick up a point with a 1-1 draw away to Whitby.

But John Coleman and his Stanley side won't be sweating too much as they still have two games in hand on nearest rivals Stalybridge.

And they have moved quickly to re-arrange their postponed game from Saturday to tomorrow night, so they can try to turn games in hand into points in the bag as quickly as possible.

Vauxhall and Accrington have now played the same number of games, so if Accrington keep picking up points, they shouldn't pose a threat.
