BURNLEY turned back the clock to record a clean sweep of victories for the first time since the beginning of the season.

It was back in September that the firsts, seconds and thirds were all on the winning side.

Back Ian Hollas inspired the Firsts to a 29-3 win against Lytham.

Playing with passion and commitment, Hollas grounded under the posts after good hands through the backs released him on 15 minutes.

Dave Collinge burst through the Lytham defence after taking the ball at pace from Billy Ingham to put Burnley in charge.

On the stroke of half time, Hollas went over again after good pressure from the forwards.

Burnley soaked up Lytham pressure in the opening 10 minutes of the second half and conceded a silly penalty to give the visitors their only points of the game.

The home side stamped their authority on the game when Troy Cooper driven over the line to make it 22-3 and with five minutes remaining Hollas completed his hat-trick.

With news filtering back of the seconds emphatic 46-12 at Sedgley Park, it was left to the Third team to complete the clean sweep - and the didn't disappoint with a fine 36-3 win also against Sedgeley Park.

Mark Nicol and Pete Aitkin scored two tries each while club chairman completed the scoring with the try of the match rounding off a 30 yard driving maul.

Stand off Dax Humberside ignored the blustery conditions to convert all five tries.

Despite the try scorers claiming glory it was a game won by the excellent front five of Phil Egan, the Walsh brothers Eamon and Mark, Shaun Sumner and Wilkinson.
