Continuing my look back at a year in the life of a Sven lookalike, here is the next installment. One day in the office I was asked to phone The Big Breakfast.

However, as the jokes were hotting up, I was not going to take notice of a prank like this. My colleagues insisted that I telephoned the number they had given me and so eventually, I did.

I spoke to the (then) producer who asked if I could call down to appear on a "football/World Cup build up" themed show. I was told quite clearly there would be no cash.

Now this was a bit of a dillema, having to pay for myself to go to London, no "wages" for it and ... what the heel it's TV I'm now hitting the big time!!!

I travelled the day before, chaffeured by my long-standing friend Frank Reid (Mayor's chaffeur for Salford who got us lost and late!).

We stayed overnight at a friend's (remember this was YMCA type stuff, not quite the big time!) and I dug myself out of bed at 3am ready to be at the studio in the dock area at 6am.

I had of course to go through the procedure that all superstars go through, especially the hair bit.

It's a good job I did my hair as the next bit of "stardom" was hairy to say the least.

Present news is that I received a copy of a video that I made for LWT late last year. I had been trying to get hold of a copy but without success.

Out of the blue, director of the "Behaving Badly" series, Chris Carey, was good enough to send me a copy. Another to add to the scrapbook.
