WANNABE singers can put their talents to the test at Yates' Wine Lodge, Preston, for a national Search for a Star contest that can net the overall winner a prize worth more than £10,000 and the chance to get a record deal.

Singers, aged 18-plus can audition at Yates's, Church Street, on Tuesday, March 18. To enter pop into Yates's on Tuesday night or reserve a place before-hand at the bar. Chosen songs must be on the venue's karaoke list.

IRISH music organisation Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann is holding a St Patricks Night Dance on Monday, March 17.
