CANCER Research UK is £3,000 better off -- thanks to Blackburn-based Great Harwood Windows.

The company raised the money at its charity ball, which included an auction of memorabilia.

Costumes from Coronation Street were among items which went under the hammer of celebrity auctioneer Paul Booth, who presents the breakfast show on Burn FM.

A raffle was also held at the ball and, at the end of the night, managing director Jimmy Hindle presented a cheque to Hannah Van Erbeek, of Cancer Research UK. Great Harwood Windows were recently winners at the Conservatory of the Year Awards, in the large Victorian category.
