LEIGH RMI's latest attempt to raise the club's profile in the town saw first team players out and about on Saturday afternoon.

Players and officials were in the town centre to meet their fans and sign autographs.

There was also be a free raffle for autographed footballs, signed shirts and family tickets for home matches.

Club chairman Alan Leach said: "The team has no game on Saturday, so after morning training manager Mark Patterson and the players want to meet the people of Leigh in the town's shopping centre. It will be a superb opportunity for the players to meet some of their fans as well as to give away some footballing souvenirs."

Supporter's Club chairman Peter Lowe added: "This will be a great chance for fans and youngsters to chat to Leigh RMI players, pick up a team poster and get their autographs. Many of them have played for Premiership or football league clubs while manager Patterson is a former Bolton, Blackburn and Preston player.

"The manager and players would like to increase their profile in town and I'm delighted they are taking the initiative to get out and about and meet people on their free Saturday afternoon."
