A TEENAGER who injured a man with a bottle in a pub had meant to hit her brother, Burnley magistrates heard.
The court was told how part-time barmaid Kelly Ann Cockett, 18, claimed she had been assaulted by her brother and was getting her own back by throwing a bottle. She did not see where it went or who it hit.
Cockett, of Crossley Fold, Burnley, admitted assault by beating. She was given a six months community rehabilitation order.
The defendant must also pay £100 compensation and £65 costs.
Julie Reddish, prosecuting, told the court the victim suffered a deep cut to the top of his nose and bled profusely. He also had a cut over his left eye and scratches on a cheek.
Scott Parker, defending, said Cockett had earlier had a row with her brother and had needed stitches after a bottle was smashed on her head.
Mr Parker said since the offence, Cockett had been to see the victim and personally apologised.
