FORMER Burnley star Paul Gascoigne flew back to Britain yesterday after an outbreak of the killer virus Sars brought the league season there to a grinding halt.

The ex-England midfielder, who made six appearances for the Clarets at the end of the 2001/2002 season, has suffered off-field problems since then.

But determined Gazza, who intends to stay in the game in some capacity, has now pledged to concentrate on his football again and step up his training regime.
