DOCTORS at Pendle Community Hospital in Nelson can chat to cancer patients and relatives in a quiet setting following the opening of a quiet room. The Rosemere Conservatory, designed to let health workers deal sensitively with out-patients, was officially opened yesterday by Joan whittle, chairman of the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
The outpatient department at the Nelson hospital deals with a significant number of cancer patients from all specialities at various stages in the cancer journey. Due to the increase in demand put on the out-patient services at Pendle, it was decided there was a need for quiet area away from the clinical setting to deal sensitively with patients, relatives and carers.
