GREENMOUNT put one over on title rivals Westhoughton for the second successive week to move closer to second place in the Bolton League table.

After last week's superb Gary Chadwick-inspired Hamer Cup semi-final victory over the 'Cow Yeds' it was the turn of Indian professional Robin Morris to be the village side's hero scoring a crucial century then picking up six wickets into the bargain.

Mark Fallon's lads didn't have it all their own way in the early stages though with both Andy Bowker and Jimmy Horrox back in the shed with only five runs on the board.

But that was the cue for Morris to spring into action and he struck back with a 65 run partnership with Faisal Lones followed by one of 131 with skipper Fallon who had a fine knock of 59.

The target of 223 for 8 looked out of the question when the 'Cow Yeds' found themselves floundering on 9 for 3.

But their West Indian professional Dwayne Smith pulled their innings round with 60 while Mike Crookson finished unbeaten on the same score, nevertheless the Bolton side fell ten runs short of the Greenmount total.
