HYNDBURN'S free music festival will take over Accrington's Oak Hill Park for seven hours tomorrow giving 17 local bands and artists the chance to perform in front of a live audience.

The new-look music spectacular, which replaces the popular Sounds event, is aimed at giving visitors to the festival a wide range of music styles.

The artists chosen to appear were selected after two nights of auditions.

Among those taking part are the hometown quartet 4Play who recently performed at Blackburn's Arts in the Park and The Fashionable Winos, whose controversial name has sparked a furious debate among readers of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

Other well known names on the bill are Tessem and The Rising. In addition to the live music, local DJs will also be performing.

On Sunday Oak Hill Park will host Hyndburn Mela -- for full details see tomorrow's Lancashire Evening Telegraph
