RED hot pop sensation Blue will be topping their chart success in Blackpool this August -- by switching on the town's sparkling Illuminations.
The fabulous foursome -- Antony Costa, Duncan James, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe -- will take time out from their nationwide tour to flick the switch of the famous northern Lights on August 29.
Blue hit the number one spot last December with a cover version of Elton John's Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word, in addition to a string of top five hits including All Rise, One Love and U Make Me Wanna.
It will only be a flying visit to Blackpool for Blue who are due on stage in Southampton the following day. Lesley Douglas, head of programmes at Radio 2 -- which is hosting the event for the seventh year running -- promised 'a great night of entertainment' and said: "We are delighted to be once again involved in one of the country's great annual events."
The station will again broadcast the switch-on live, 8.30-9.30pm, from a specially constructed stage and arena opposite Blackpool's Coral Island.
