MASKED car-jackers forced a man and his girlfriend to hand over the keys to their car -- but let their springer spaniel free first before driving away.
Police said the 58-year-old man and his partner were approached by three men wearing Balaclavas and black clothing as they pulled into the driveway of their home in Longsight Road, Bury, after spending last night at the Naylors Green Pub.
One of the men, who was holding a spanner, asked the man to hand over the keys to his four-wheel drive Subaru Forester GTX, which he did.
Police said the thieves got into the car, but let the man take his dog out of the boot first before driving off towards Vernon Road. The car -- registration number A112MH -- had not been recovered early today. No one was injured during the incident which happened at 11.30pm.
