A MAN was arrested and was being questioned on Friday in connection with a car accident which caused a major gas leak in the Hollins Lane area of Unsworth.
Residents were evacuated from their homes at 9am on Thursday when the car left the road and collided with the wall of a house fracturing a gas pipe. Surrounding homes were evacuated for around two hours as Transco engineers worked to stop the leak.
A police spokesman said: "A man has been arrested for failing to provide a breath sample."
